The Bond Electric Corp. flashlight is a classic example of American-made industrial design, manufactured just across the river in Jersey City, New Jersey. Its polished chrome ends, black ribbed handle, and simple, functional construction give it a timeless character that immediately appealed to me.
One of my favorite details is the signaling button, a small but thoughtful feature that allowed the flashlight to communicate through flashes of light rather than simply illuminate the darkness.
There’s something satisfying about an everyday object designed with that kind of versatility and purpose. Capturing the contrast between the reflective chrome and textured black handle offered an opportunity to appreciate the craftsmanship behind its straightforward appearance. This flashlight is a reminder of an era when practical design and clever engineering went hand in hand. American-made and Jersey proud!
